Hey everyone! Did you know that April is a special month in Myanmar? 

They use an ancient calendar, and what makes it even more special is the water festival called Thingyan!

"Thingyan" means the time when the old year ends and the new year begins. 

During the Thingyan Water Festival, Myanmar people splash each other with water to wash away impurities, mistakes of the past year, and welcome the new year with a clean body and mind.

At LTS, we join in the festivities and share a meal with local residents every year during Thingyan Week. 

This year, we had around 310 residents visit our center and we all enjoyed a meal together. 

Our students also participated as volunteers and helped clean up until the end.

It's a wonderful time of celebration and community!
